Necessary Changes_08/08/26

Greetings! I hope that your afternoon is going well. By the way, at 4:30 pm, it is 112o. Today has been a quiet day for me. The grandkids are with Mom getting ready for the start of the new school year. My oldest granddaughter doesn’t live here in Vegas. I believe she’s going to the 5th or 6th grade. I am praying for them all, along with the other kids starting anew. I encourage prayer for our children and our grandchildren. We need safety for them to and from school, from bullying, and from predators. Let’s keep them in prayer. Changes are necessary for us all. Speaking of changes, let’s talk about changes we need to make as believers.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: 2 Timothy 2:22-24

A close-up of a green plant with a scripture quote from 2 Timothy 2:22-24 NIV overlaid on a white background.

Some changes are necessary. Challenging but not impossible. Nothing is impossible with God. 1 Timothy 6:11-12 – “But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”

This is one Scripture that helps us with clarity and focus. It outlines what we should be pursuing. It sets a standard for living this life, and changing the behaviors we had as youngsters (our early twenties) is an important part of maturity and growth. I intended no disrespect in that statement. As I reflected today during devotion, I was reminded how far away from God I truly was during that time.

I praise God I am no longer stuck there. Even the seasons change accordingly. But my reflection causes me to examine and appreciate the changes made. The small steps matter in maturity and growth. It may take longer than you want, but it will happen as you commit to change. It is by God’s grace and mercy that we are here today. That we have been given another day to change. He does get the praise because Jesus came so that we can have life, and that more abundantly. John 10:10 – “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

God bless you, and be encouraged.
