Greetings! I pray you are doing well. It’s about 6:15 pm, and the temperature is 105o. The high was supposed to be 108o. That’s the day wrapped in heat. I had to go out and get more water for the house. That was my workout. The heat intensifies every effort. At any rate, I am thankful for several things. I can still walk in the heat. It was a short trip, praise God! The front wheels came off my basket, but they waited until I got back to my building. Lol…
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Psalm 40:3-4

The book of Psalms has been a balm to my soul. When I get antsy, I go back to the soothing reminders that God really is in charge. Psalm 28:7 – “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him.” I am reminded that I am blessed. Psalm 84:12 – “Lord Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in You.” Psalm 34:8 – “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” Additional Scripture: Exodus 14:31 and Psalm 64:9.
Reflection always causes me to appreciate those times when the Lord gave immediate relief. However, I also appreciate the times I had to trust Him and wait on His perfect timing. In this instant culture of ours, we believe everything should happen yesterday. Who I am today is because of God’s work in me, the instant work and the longer work. I believe God knows we need both. I trust Him in that He knows the instant work will benefit right then. I take no credit other than being repentant and consistent in His word. It’s what’s needed in this personal relationship. God bless you, and be encouraged. It’s a journey here on earth and a destination in heaven.
