TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: JOHN 20:29
This journey of faith calls for a level of trust that is challenging for most of us. There is a need to see and know every detail of what is going on. Believing God when you cannot see everything going on in your life is a building block for strengthening your faith in God. Jesus had this conversation with Thomas and the other disciples. John 20:30-31 – “Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.”
Thomas desired a sign to establish his faith. He does represent some of us today who want proof. However, Jesus is calling us to believe even though we have not seen. Men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. I wasn’t there. I do believe the account given in God’s word. I encourage you to stand strong in your faith, for this life and the next one.
