TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: TITUS 3:3
Greetings! How are you feeling today? I thank God that you are here to evaluate. Today’s Scripture talks about where we once were. Lost in darkness, trapped by the lies we’ve fed ourselves.
Following whatever desire came our way. When you read the Scripture to the left, can you see the mercy of God? Since you are still here, you can give thanks for another day and praise to God, who is worthy of all praise. Reflection causes me to praise God because I may not be where I want to be, but I am not still where I used to be. Ephesians establishes the clarity.
Ephesians 2:1-3 – “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.”
When I get caught up in making progress, I take a moment to appreciate the small steps. God’s word is the light of my life. He has brought me from some mighty dark places. I reflect and can see the rollercoaster I was on, or the merry-go-round. I share because I hope to encourage you to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Moving forward and heaven-bound. My heart is set on eternity.
The first step towards that was putting God first, then accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I think about the day when I will see Him face-to-face. There will be no one to answer for my life but me. Living our lives with no regard for God puts us in a precarious position. I get it. Everyone doesn’t believe what I believe. Each of us has free will.
However, knowing that immortality is the foundation of the soul, I choose to nurture that now while I can. Since I believe God’s word, I had to make a decision. I chose God. There is hope while we are here. My hope in God fuels my faith in God. My hope tells me to have faith in each step towards God and trust Him. I am a firm believer that God keeps His promises. He is not a man that He should lie about anything. He doesn’t have to. He is the all-knowing, all-powerful, present-everywhere God.
So be encouraged. As a believer, I know my home is not here on earth. God bless you.
