TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: 2 TIMOTHY 2:20-23

Greetings! I pray your Wednesday is going well. It has been an enjoyable, although busy, day for me. The seniors in our complex had the opportunity to make sure we established our healthcare power of attorney. The Southern Nevada Senior Law Program was very accommodating with knowledge, experience, and excellent service. If you would like to check them out: http://www.snslp.org.

I like these Scriptures for a couple of reasons.  Not only do they describe where I am, but they also provide steps to take to follow the path of the Lord. There are standards I have from God’s word that can answer the ‘should I or should I not’ questions. You can see where you might fit in without degradation. Whatever your purpose, you were meant for good works. Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians Chapter 2 is very clear on who we were and who we are now in Christ.

These Scriptures are important relative to how I see myself. They help me not to compare myself to others. It is important to me that I see my validation in Christ. God created me for His purpose and plans. Searching for my validation and identity in a culture that is ever-changing, with the next best trend, is shallow and exhausting. The standards change consistently. What is acceptable today may not be tomorrow, and vice versa. Hebrews 13:8 – “Jesus is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

I spent a great deal of my young adulthood trying to fit in, get it right, choose the right career to be in the right place, etc. It was futile since no matter where I fit in, someone would not be okay with me for whatever reason. I believe someone needs to hear they matter because of the Creator, not some other person. This statement is not to be dismissive or disrespectful, but reassurance that your intrinsic value is not based on someone else’s emotions. I thank and praise God for this!

God bless you, and be encouraged.
