Today’s Scripture: What or Who Do You Worship? 05/25/26

Happy Memorial Day! I pray this is a beautiful start to your week. I extend gratitude and appreciation to those who died in service to the country. My prayers go out to those who are experiencing the loss of any loved one who died in that service. My appreciation also goes out to those who are still here. They made it home. Some have major challenges because of that service. Let us remember all who were brave and noble enough to fight for freedom in this country. Last but not least, I would like to thank the families that sacrificed their loved ones.

DEUTERONOMY 4:23-24

Today’s focus may be sensitive to some. I hope that there is encouragement, understanding, and gratitude for free will. My expression of worshiping God is where I am.

What or who do you worship? This question may be difficult to answer without defining worship. The Merriam-Webster definition is: 1) to honor or show reverence for as a divine being or supernatural power; and, 2) to regard with great extravagant respect, honor, or devotion. Now that said, what in your life are you devoted to? God requires our devotion. He created us in His image. Genesis 1:27 – “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female He created them.”This reality is true. We did not create ourselves.

Merriam-Webster says an idol is an object of extreme devotion. Nothing in our lives should replace extreme devotion to God. I hope this post encourages you to ponder what or who you are devoted to in your life.

God bless you, and be encouraged.
