PSALM 62:1-2

Greetings! I pray you are doing well today. It is hot today in Las Vegas, 95 °F at 3:30 pm. I am grateful that I can sit under the fan in my apartment. I turn on the air for a few minutes until it cools off, and then use the fan for a while to circulate the cool air. My focus today is resting in God as I share Today’s Scripture.
The primary focus of spiritual rest is to trust God and not to strive to make things work through your own efforts. God is not only able, but He is also willing to provide what you need. His timing is the centerpiece, though. As I continue to grow and develop my relationship with God, I use prayer as my go-to. This step allows me to put whatever concerns me on the altar and leave it there. My trust continues to grow as well when I quickly turn to prayer instead of my own thoughts.
I have had some challenges arise this week with family members. Since my ability to help was limited, it reminded me again that I can go boldly to the throne of grace to get help in times of need. It didn’t hurt that my Scripture for that particular day was Hebrews 4:16 – “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
God bless you, and be encouraged.
