Greetings! I pray you are having a fabulous Good Friday. It is a little chilly here in Las Vegas. It is a blessed day nonetheless. I pray that you are encouraged and blessed by this content.

Christ is our example for what to do in those precarious situations. When thoughts of those who do us wrong come to mind, many emotions are at play. Some may think that because of Jesus’ response to those that wronged him, he had no emotions. He made no threats nor did he retaliate. However, I consider this. Jesus was well aware of the emotions at play. His example for us is that we do not have to let our emotions control us or cause us to dishonor the God we serve. He was an example of not letting how we feel direct the narrative.

Yes, Jesus is the Son of God. However, before His resurrection, he was fully man. I believe his time on earth before his death  was also to let us know that he understood. He experienced the betrayal, the wrong, and the physical hurt we experience ourselves. This does not mean that he didn’t feel. Jesus had an assignment. He let nothing take him away from completing that assignment.

Some people may say, “I am not Jesus.” God’s word does not tell us to become Jesus. There is and was only one Jesus Christ. God’s word tells us to be like Christ. He was the example of navigating this journey of faith here on earth. Hebrews 12:3 – “Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” God’s compassion and love for us is shown through Christ Jesus, our risen Lord and Savior. His crown of love and compassion is evident. Just because you have an uncomfortable experience doesn’t mean that God loves you any less. He has not disappeared. He walks us through the desert and the wilderness.

Jesus was raised from the dead that we might have the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. We could not accomplish this for ourselves nor in ourselves. John 10:11 – ““I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”

God bless you and be encouraged. There is hope.
