2026 Focus: Boundaries and Time Management

I pray you are having a wonderful day. I have been considering what I want to focus on for 2026. My boundaries need fine-tuning. My time management needs to be more streamlined. It is important to me to maximize my time for God. My focus will directly impact my relationship with God.

The end of the year is almost here. This year has flown by. I have been considering what my focus will be for 2026. What comes to mind is “boundaries.” Not only those that pertain to others, but those that pertain to me as well. When I considered boundaries, I used to think of others moving beyond what I allow. However, I desire to hone in on the boundaries I set for myself. With all the chaos going on around me, I limit now what I listen to and feed my spirit. I started reading the captions for my news feeds earlier this year. I can limit how much negative input gets in.

I decided to be more balanced with my time on social media. Full disclosure, I needed to set certain activities for certain days. My heart is leading me to be more focused on my relationship with God and to deepen my roots. I honestly believe the Holy Spirit is leading me in this direction.

Ephesians 3:17 -Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

I started this post four days ago and was not compelled to complete it until now while doing my devotion. As stated before, I am an advocate of change. I am inspired to live better and make changes that move me forward in growth. However, I do not have this in the bag. Each day is another opportunity to allow God to transform my inner man. The focus has to be on God through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.

Giving thought to my boundaries and time management, the actions must be founded in my core values and based on God’s word. Therefore, the first element in each area is to begin in God’s word. The Strong’s Concordance is a tool I have held for years. There were times when it was in great use. I have rediscovered it over the past week when searching for the right way to express myself and define these efforts. Don’t neglect using the right tools to do a job for the best result.

God bless you moving into 2026. Stay in prayer and in God’s word. God is interested in the details of your life. Be encouraged. We have what we need: God’s Son, His word, and the Holy Spirit.

I have a BS in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez and an MA in Management and Leadership from Webster University. My hobbies are running, reading good books, and blogging. I’m married to my college sweet heart and have a wonderful son.

Great goal, Sandra. Boundaries are definitely important. Media consumption (social media, TV, news) will take a big chunk of your day if you let it. My Monday through Friday schedule is pretty set, with quiet time, reading, writing, blogging, exercise, chores, and errands. Weekends and holidays are more flexible and mostly focused on family time. I want to do more reading next year, so I need to adjust my week a bit to accommodate that.
