GLORIOUS IMPACT: Biblical encouragement & edification

Encouragement, edification, and empowerment from a biblical perspective for true transformation.

Is it the Season or Life Practice?

As the year comes to a close, there is so much to be thankful for. I do thank God for my friends and family. I pray for those who have lost friends and family. Giving thanks daily reminds us that tomorrow is not guaranteed for any of us. Giving thanks allows us to be present daily. It helps us to appreciate God’s blessings.

I pray you are having a great Friday! Are you in a thankful place today? There is no need to wait until Thanksgiving Day to be thankful

This is my favorite time of the year. I am even more thankful during this season than other times. I highlight a Scripture that prompted the headline of this post. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. “Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Why is this important? Because we ought to give thanks all year long. I praise and thank God because I am still here. I give thanks because I get to see my grandchildren grow and develop. I have one grandchild that I am not in proximity to, but I thank God I can pray for her. I thank God for the friends that are still around. I thank God for the memories created by those I love and those who love me. I thank God for the lessons I’ve learned that I can practice today.

I thank God for what didn’t happen to me when I was lost and without God in this world. Ephesians 2:12 – “remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.” I thank God that I know Him.

When we walk with God, there is always hope. I thank God that I can always pray. Whether I am high or low, He said He would never leave me nor forsake me. I thank God for His word. Jeremiah 33:3 – “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” It’s not restricted to this season. God is faithful all year long. Enjoy this holiday season. Remember though, God is on the throne all year long. Enjoy giving thanks before Thanksgiving. Be blessed and encouraged.
