Being in the Awareness and Presence of God

I pray you are having a great Wednesday. Today is beautiful. The sun is shining and there is a gentle, soft breeze. You can tell the season is changing. This is a time to enjoy the goodness of God. There is a time and season for everything. I can appreciate this time of transition.

Today’s thoughts were taken from a post I read earlier about being present for others. There is power in being present. You will enjoy the post. I have linked it for you. It was penned by Thinkbigwithbukonla. However, I deviate a bit. I would like to emphasize having this mindset for our relationship with God. There are times when just being in God’s presence, still and reflective, appreciating God’s awesome love for us, gives us the awareness and courage to be present for others.

This stood out to me because there is power in the awareness of God and being in His presence. I believe this increases reverence for God. In a culture where having your voice heard is becoming a mantra, being present with God reminds us that He is sovereign. Awareness of His presence acknowledges that you know He’s there. Someone may say, how do I know He’s really there. He is omnipresent. God is everywhere.

Being in God’s presence is transformative. Psalm 46:10-11 – “Be still and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” “The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.” It may be challenging for us to be still and not speaking only physically, but it takes practice. Being still in the presence of God says, “I’m listening, God.”

My encouragement today is to spend time with God. We spend time with friends when we miss their presence. Isaiah 41:8 – “But as for you, Israel my servant, Jacob my chosen one, descended from Abraham my friend.” Are you a friend of God? Do you want to be? I don’t know about you, but I want to be a friend of God. I treasure my friends here on earth. However, I treasure being a friend of God more. Why? Because my life is not just here on earth. The destination of my immortal soul is a priority for me.

These are my thoughts for today. Be blessed and encouraged.
