Today’s Thoughts_10/03/25

I pray you are having a great Friday so far. I have many thoughts about what is currently happening in our world today. They will not all be in this post. However, I wanted to say hello and wish everyone well.

I am glad to know God today through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I start with that because considering the current political chaotic climate, I would be depressed. You would think there is no hope. I am glad that my hope is for eternity. When things get heavy for me, I do look forward to heavenly things. Colossians 3:2 – “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” Some may think I am escaping or burying my head in the sand. I am not. God’s word tells us to keep our eyes on heavenly things.

Why is this image in the middle of the post? Part of my thoughts for today.

This is an image of the new construction of the building torn down earlier this year. Okay, it may seem like I’m coming out of left field. I am not. Sometimes you have to tear things down to rebuild. While I am not in agreement with all the nuances of the rebuilding process currently happening in the U.S., I understand that we have to tear down in order to rebuild. However, as I have watched the construction crew over the last several months, I conclude that rebuilding has to be a team effort. One person cannot successfully rebuild alone. There are many facets to rebuilding and it includes many different parties.

I am disheartened by the political leadership division that is seemingly jeopardizing the future of the U.S. The blame game is not new. It started with Adam and Eve. My consolation is that God is still in charge. It may look like He’s taking a very long nap, I know He’s not. I trust in God’s timing for the changes to come. Things are very uncomfortable right now. My prayers for His protection and provision have become much more critical. I do admit that I am not a political scholar or economic scholar. However, what is happening to the lives of families, is hardship right now. The personal agendas striving for power and control are not looking at the end result. There will be trauma.

Our country has been through some major things. We have had government shutdowns before. We have gone through trial and error change. However, the blatant disrespect and disregard for life is becoming so unhealthy. Mental health has been a major trend for months now. This is not the best way to bring mental health changes.

I accept that some may not have the same faith in God I have. Some may not even trust God right now. Where is He? Still napping? No, God is allowing us to work by our own devices. The Bible is still very relevant on how to live this journey. Hebrews 13:8 – “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” There are people in charge who say they are Christian but do not operate from a biblical perspective.

We need God to move on the hearts of our men and women in leadership. Prayer is still the way to move in our circumstances. Luke 18:1 – “Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart”. I continue to pray.

Men ought always to pray and not lose heart.

Be blessed and encouraged. God is still in charge, no matter what it looks like.

Beautiful words, Sandra. You are absolutely right, and there is nothing wrong with staying away from the current political environment. I think it’s okay to have an opinion and express it from time to time without going overboard because we are called to separate ourselves from the world. We should pray, and when elections come, we should vote. The rest of the time, we should find ways to stay connected to God and help those around us as much as we can. The rest is in God’s hands.
