I don’t have a lot to say about what’s going on across the social media platforms except the following paragraph. I do have a question though. Are we oblivious to the division that is wreaking havoc on relationships? Are we blind to our participation in the work of the enemy as the value of life and dreams are diminished?

I am glad that division and animosity relative to Charlie Kirk’s assassination is dying down. I have been around a little while and have seen some behaviors that I thought were out of pocket. However, some of the responses I have witnessed across social media the last couple of weeks have been disturbing. When you consider that your life is not worth sharing your ideas and beliefs, it is disheartening. An individual should be able to voice their heartfelt desires based on their ideology without losing their life. We can say what we feel without condescension and disrespect towards others.

That said, I must confess that God’s word has described the heart of man. It is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Jeremiah 17:9-10 – “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? ‘I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.’ “

God’s word does not allow us to hide. What is seen through the lens of Scripture is very uncomfortable. Where do we go from here? To Jesus. Be blessed and encouraged. There is hope in Christ.

I agree, San Vercell. It has definitely been a disconcerting few weeks. Every time I think about recent events, I just keep repeating to myself that God is bigger. But sometimes, it doesn’t feel that way.

  2. Edward Ortiz – I'm a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel with over 24 years of leadership and management experience. I have a BS in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez and an MA in Management and Leadership from Webster University. My hobbies are running, reading good books, and blogging. I’m married to my college sweet heart and have a wonderful son.

Well said, Sandra. That’s one of the reasons I don’t have or follow social media, except for LinkedIn. You never know who is behind those posts that are meant to create division and chaos. When we share our opinions, they need to be informed and constructive in order to improve lives instead of destroying them. That’s part of the problem now, people are quick to say anything to get more followers and influence without thinking about the consequences.
