Happy Friday! I pray you are doing well and looking forward to a wonderful weekend. Whether you are hanging out with friends, reading a book, or just resting, enjoy your weekend. Give thanks to God for meeting the need.
I pondered this phrase, “the path of least resistance”. It is sobering. In transparency and honesty, I admit there were many times I chose this path. Why? because I didn’t want to put the energy into looking beyond myself. Thoughts of conflict, vulnerability, discomfort, and why me permeated my mind. I must disclose that God was still there regardless of my fast pace into oblivion. We cannot run away from God.
God’s plans and purpose for our lives require that we give of ourselves. The part that makes us vulnerable to others. It opens up the doors to betrayal, hurt, pain, and sadness. However, though I may sound a little morbid, there is always hope. Refusal to let emotions rule us is paramount for overcoming. I hold onto God and His word because there is a promise of better in eternity. Our souls are eternal, my friends.

From my devotion today, I am reminded of the wonder of my High Priest, Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 1:30 – “It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.” My faith gives me hope, lightens the burden, and reassures me that giving of myself is necessary for the abundant life (John 10:10) that Jesus promised. He gave all of Himself for me. He was lied on, betrayed, spat on, and even nailed to a cross. Yet, His love for the Heavenly Father and us compelled Him to walk that narrow path.
I have stated this before. What have you gone through that Jesus cannot relate to? Listen, He even included being hungry and simultaneously tempted by the enemy in the desert. We have true His-story as given to us by the Holy Spirit through surrendered men of God.
My hope in sharing this post is that you are encouraged to give your burdens to the Lord. His hands and heart are open to receive you. Be blessed and encouraged!
