Encouragement, edification, and empowerment from a biblical perspective for true transformation.

Today’s Scripture_Psalm 77:4-9_07/31/25

Hello. I pray you are having a great and productive day. I have been somewhat distracted today. However, I am sharing today what many may feel on this journey. Sometimes it feels like God has left you. He hasn’t. He will never leave you, nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). According to Psalm 77:4-9, the psalmist expresses those moments on this journey when the going gets rough.

Psalm 77:4-9 – You don’t let me sleep. I am too distressed even to pray! I think of the good old days, long since ended, when my nights were filled with joyful songs. I search my soul and ponder the difference now. Has the Lord rejected me forever? Will He never again be kind to me? Is His unfailing love gone forever? Have His promises permanently failed? Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He slammed the door on His compassion?

Climbing that mountain can be rough! The top is still there.

I am an optimist and an encourager. I believe in the premise of hope in God through Jesus Christ. Today, I wanted to share with those who may be challenged and struggling in the goodness of God. He is still there. He will not leave you. Challenging times means challenging times. Not that God disappeared. The psalmist expresses the emotions many experience when times get rough.

I encourage you today not to let your emotions change the posture of your heart. Stand and keep standing on God’s word, no matter what it looks like. Challenging circumstances make us stronger when we allow them to. We begin to see what God sees. I have given you everything you need to run the race. God is faithful to His word. He is Jehovah Jireh, the provider. He is our deliverer. There is nothing you experience that God can’t get you through.

I did not want to minimize anyone’s experience. I sympathize and empathize. I have had some rough days. But God has been faithful in making the days smoother. Easier to handle. The more I trust His sovereignty, the more I rest in Him. The rest gives me the strength and the courage to keep moving forward. The psalmist reminds us to remember that God keeps His promises. He continues to provide what you need.

Be prepared that what you think you need and what God knows you need may differ. I have been pleasantly surprised and humbled over the years. My hope is that you would rest in Him. Be blessed and encouraged.
