Thoughts on Productivity

Hello, greetings and blessings to you. I pray you are having a great weekend. Saturday was a day for cleaning, reorganizing, and laundry. Getting organized for the week puts me in a very productive frame of mind. I was tired but slept well.

This post is about being organized. I feel so much more productive when things are clean and organized. Keeping up with a schedule is challenging, though. I realize something about myself. I am much more productive when I am organized.

Several benefits to being organized include increased productivity, and I can attest to that. Other benefits include an improved mood, calmness, reduced stress, and anxiety. One benefit I would like to highlight is that being organized establishes a routine. Structure is important when you decide you want change. The irony is that even bad habits have a routine to them. If you examine the details of a habit you would like to change, you will find that there are several steps that are repeated subconsciously.

Another point I would like to add is that when I hone in on my cleaning and organizing, it is very calming. Deciding to change can seem daunting. However, it is the small steps. Being organized can lead to the next step before you realize it. What I do realize is after you have incorporated some small changes and you like those changes, you notice when they are not practiced.

Here are a couple of reminders. One is it may take a minute to figure out what works best for you. You may have to change things up a little to make the most of your productivity changes. The journey of change and personal growth is a process and takes time. Be patient with yourself, but be diligent.

I absolutely agree, especially about reducing stress and anxiety. I feel much better when things are organized and my to-do list is under control.
