God bless you today. I pray that you are doing well. My grandkids gave me a run for my money today. They kept me moving. When it seemed a little challenging, I thanked God for the privilege and honor of being able to share their lives at this point. There are so many grieving the loss of children and other family members because of the natural disasters. The chaos distracts us from posturing a heart of gratitude.
Today’s post is about deepening your relationship with God. Thanks and praise are so important to the believer. Praise gives glory to God. And, praise helps deepen your gratitude for all the blessings from God. Giving thanks builds gratitude in the heart for a loving and merciful God.
One of the issues that plagued the Israelites in the Old Testament was that they showed no gratitude for the things God had already done. Numbers 14:27-“How long will this wicked community grumble against me? I have heard the complaints of these grumbling Israelites. (NIV) Complaining is not of the Spirit of God. Complaining discredits the mercy and grace of God. Complaining makes you look at your circumstances and not at the provider of all things, God.
This morning in prayer, I was reminded that we have gotten away from enjoying the simplicity of life. Be blessed and encouraged.
