What does that mean to you? For a long while, I was unsure of my understanding of what that meant to me. The closer I get to the Lord Jesus, the more the Holy Spirit flows (the living water). I got it now.
Jesus not only died on the cross, but He also left us with help. God understood how fragile we are. He gave us His word and left us the Holy Spirit to reside in us for the continual help needed.
In prayer this morning, I was very grateful that God didn’t leave me nor forsake me. The more I look over my life and reflect on the choices I made, I am so fortunate to still be here despite the chaos. I can pray for my adult children and grandchildren. The next generation needs our prayers. We may not see the fruit of our labor immediately. But it will come into fruition when we are praying for God’s divine will, plan, and purpose. I know that my grandmother prayed for me, praise God.
Proverbs 18:4 – “Wise words are like deep waters; wisdom flows from the wise like a bubbling brook.” Wise words are food for the soul. When we adhere to wisdom, we receive protection and guidance.
Isaiah 58:11 – “The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.” Isaiah knew about that living water. Ezekiel knew about that living water. Read Ezekiel 47:1-10 when he is given a vision about the living water flowing from the temple.
John 14:17 -“He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it isn’t looking for Him and doesn’t recognize Him. But you know Him, because He lives with you now and later will be in you. No, I will not abandon you as orphans–I will come to you.” Jesus did not abandon us. There is not enough dependence on the Holy Spirit to provide what we need, even though He is fully equipped to do so.
John 16:7 – “But in fact, it i best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send Him to you.” When Jesus was talking to the disciples before his death and resurrection, He let them know the importance of why He had to go. We would not have the Holy Spirit had Jesus not chosen to die for us. We have an Advocate. Praise God!
Be blessed and encouraged.
