Happy Tuesday! I pray that you have had an excellent day. The heat is coming to Las Vegas this week.
Self-discipline is worth talking about again. Reinforcing the knowledge for application is important. Change doesn’t come by osmosis. It comes through practical application. You must be committed to doing what needs to be done as often as possible to replace one behavior with another. Be consistent.
It’s also important to reiterate that your mindset has to be on accomplishing your goal. Fueling yourself with the right information to bring change. Romans 12:2 was a pivotal passage of Scripture for me. Romans 12:2 – Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Break down the details of how you can do that. Be patient with yourself. Habits aren’t developed in a day or two. It takes time practicing what you want to do, good and bad. Don’t be distracted by a culture that wants everything instantly.
We have been spoiled by the increasing speed at which we can accomplish things. However, it is a safe reminder that everything is not accomplished in a minute or two with the power of ten. I would also like to remind you that we can enjoy the process. If you are making change for yourself, take your time. Changing to please others on their timetable is a trap. That doesn’t mean you can’t prepare by educating yourself further and gathering hands on experience. Remember though, be realistic with the goals and the timetable.
My encouragement in the efforts to change is to enjoy the process. Be self-disciplined. Be committed, defined by your consistency. Celebrate the small steps. Enjoy yourself. Enjoy: to experience with joy.
Be encouraged and be blessed.
