Today, I share a quote that I believe speaks directly to change.
“A river cuts through rock, not because of its power, but because of its persistence.” It is attributed to James N. Watkins. This quote emphasizes the importance of perseverance over brute force in achieving goals. 

A recent post talked about patience. Understanding that change takes time, patience is essential when you become anxious about your results. Patience is also significant when it comes to persistence. The definition of persistence is the act of persisting; stubborn or enduring continuance, as in a chosen course or purpose.

Despite how you feel, sometimes you have to keep moving forward. Understanding that some of this is repetitive, reinforcing what strengthens you, motivates you, and keeps you moving forward is key. We do learn by repetition. Once a skill or a tool becomes a part of who you are, your capacity to accomplish more increases.

When your mind is made up to accomplish a goal, you are like that river flowing no matter what. Rocks wear down by the consistent flow of the water. Things do change after some time. Stay focused. Stay consistent. Your results will come.
