Change is a Process

Happy Friday! I hope that your week has been fruitful and you’ve enjoyed your days. At this point, I am thankful for every day of peace. Being retired, TGIF is not as significant.

Change is a process. This post shares my heart on personal growth and change. It is important to emphasized that change is a process. As you lay out your goals and break them down, remember to give yourself grace. Be patient with yourself. The importance of breaking down your larger goals is to make them achievable so that you can have that grace and patience with yourself.

Why is change necessary? What are you seeking that you don’t have? Are you willing to put the work in to accomplish your goal? These questions point you in the right direction. They compel you to do some soul searching and examine where you are. I can say to you with transparency that it’s not always easy to answer these questions or easy to accept when you are faced with the truth about where you really are.

For instance, my walk with the Lord had been challenging when I realized that I wanted more from this relationship. But I wasn’t doing the reading and studying like I should have been to grow this relationship. Church once a week was not the answer. I had to do more and face the truth that I was being lazy. Covid didn’t help Another example was my writing. I felt uneasy a bit. I wanted to do more but wasn’t confident. Why wasn’t I confident? I love to write but I had to learn better techniques in expression and clarifying my point. I got more education.

I say this about the confidence because some think you low self-esteem may be the issue. Change doesn’t come by osmosis though. However, many challenges can be overcome by learning how to do what you desire to do correctly. This step increases confidence. Self-evaluation is so important when you experience certain emotions.

You can accomplish many things that may seem impossible when you have the right mindset. Starting with basics, you can evaluate where you are and where you want to go. Define what it takes to reach your goal. Set your timetable and get to work. Be patient and consistent. Commit. Commitment is important especially when things get challenging. Too tired, unmotivated, and too busy are just some of the distractions. Stay focused.

I pray this encourages you. Be blessed.
