Quote for the Day_03.18.25

I pray you are having a terrific Tuesday. I thank God for His mercy and grace today. It has been a wonderful day so far.

Today’s quote is:
“If you do not worship God, you worship something, and nine times out of ten it will be yourself. You have a duty to worship God, not because He will be imperfect and unhappy if you do not, but because you will be imperfect and unhappy.” Fulton J Sheen

This quote resonated with me because I see how I put myself before God. Although my choices were not producing what I desired, I still thought I had the answers. It took a while before I committed to asking God for His purpose for my life.

I am willing to be transparent here and say that my in my stubbornness and pride, I had to come up with the answers. It was up to me to get to the bottom of what was wrong in my life and to fix it. Well, it is important to understand that we cannot fix our sin nature. Only God can do that.

We all worship something. It can be ourselves, our jobs, our success, our families, our riches, or something else. Anything that we place before God, give all our effort and attention to is what we worship.

It is humbling to accept that we need God to have our lives transformed to fulfill God’s purpose and to glorify Him. How can we do that in and of ourselves? The great deception of self is thinking that we can. That we have the power and the wherewithal to do so.

These are my thoughts for today. Some may disagree. However, this is my reality. Thank God for His mercy and grace. I am still here to turn to the right way of truth. His way.

Be blessed.
