I pray you are doing well this Wednesday. Once again, the weather here in Vegas for February is gorgeous. I have been enjoying being outside. Today, I would like to share the Scripture for today. Philippians 2:14-15 – “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,” NKJV
When I read this Scripture, I think it sets the standard for how we do whatever we do. Meditating on it, I concluded that my response to a situation is based on this standard. It may not be easy, but it can be done. As a believer, my mindset should be to represent Christ, not my feelings. This takes practice and prayer. Prayer for understanding how you feel, what you feel, and why you feel a certain way is placed before God. The Holy Spirit guides us when we listen. Being self-aware brings understanding on how to navigate our relationships and how to handle your emotion.
When feelings are given control, the possibility of harming others is increased. To be harmless is to consider what you do before you do it. Then, take the higher road. The current culture of saying what you want any way you want does not lend to being at peace with all men. There are moments when you need to speak up, sure. However, we are called to pursue peace.
Hebrews 12:14 – “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord;” NKJV
Psalm 34:14 – “Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.” NKJV
This should become part of the inner compass. We are given grace to accomplish this standard God has set for believers. Be blessed.
