Hello. I hope you are having a stellar Saturday. It has been a wonderful day. My daughter made me breakfast this morning; half omelette and some awesome French toast. Absolutely delicious.
I wanted to share my thoughts on when emotions get tested in a relationship. Whether spousal, mother-daughter, or friends; whatever it happens to be. Moving is a stressful process, even when you have planned the details to the the most ultimate degree. Something happens (that old curve ball) and things go awry. A missing dolly can upset the plans, adding time and work that wasn’t included in the original plans. Tiredness and lack of sustenance, along with frustration raises tempers. However, taking breaks will rejuvenate.
These challenges can be distracting. Challenges can take your eyes off the common goal. It takes effort and forgiveness to move pass the point of contention and commit to getting the job done. This is easier said than done, but it is not impossible. Sometimes challenges present an opportunity to do things differently or better than originally planned.
One key step for me is to talk about things. When it is clear that things are going south, take the time to straighten things out as soon as possible. Breathe. You don’t have to dismiss your feelings, you just don’t allow them to control your behavior. I am a big proponent of keeping my eyes on the prize. If it seems like a major challenge, I tend to keep silent until a more opportune moment affords itself. Self-control becomes more obvious when things have gone awry. Overall, I think the following Scripture helps me work things out.
1 Corinthians 10:13 – ” No temptation has overtaken you except as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” NKJV
Be blessed.
