Minimizing

Happy Wednesday! My hope is that you are doing well. Before the new year began, I started looking at tiny houses. There are so many variations on what you can do with a smaller space. More consideration is given to what you need than just what you want. While I haven’t decided that it is an option for me. This thought process does make me consider how to declutter and revaluate what I need.

Minimizing is a part of my growth process. I have some special projects for spring cleaning. Getting rid of all the clothing I do not wear. Getting ride of the DVDs I no longer watch. Savers is a great place to donate usable things. I am not one to give away something that doesn’t work or isn’t usable.

I believe one thing I focus on now is excess. The LA fires brought to mind the question, “how much do you really need?” I plan to do a lot more research on minimizing. In aging, I came to the realization that I use so much less than I did when I was younger. I make a note of what actually works for me and no longer try every new thing that comes out.

Being a good steward of what God has already blessed me with is a part of my gratitude journey. Be content with such things as you have.

Hebrews 13:5 – “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ “ NKJV

1 Timothy 6:6 – “Now godliness with contentment is great gain.” NKJV

Be blessed.
