The Peace of God

Happy Monday. How are you today? I pray that you are blessed and expressing gratitude for those blessings. Today, I share with you how I handle distractions and chaos these days. When I feel challenged by what’s going on around me, I meditate on the promises of God. The first thing I think about is the peace of God. Jesus told us that he gives us peace, His peace.

John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

When I think of God’s peace, I surrender the desire for my resolution. I do believe that may a genuine challenge for many. When someone refuses to let go, is it because they have their desired resolution to the chaos or challenge, for removing the distraction? I have considered that sometimes these things come into play so that one can learn to focus on what is the priority.

Has this been an easy process? No, it causes me to examine my why when dealing with emotions. Colossians says we should let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts. As an advocate of change, practicing the tools at hand, I have become skillful. Have I reached perfection? Of course not, I have grandchildren. I say this in fun.

Every day may bring a challenge that demands resolution. However, in most cases it is not my resolution but the peace of God that brings me to a resolution that honors God.

I pray that you are edified and encouraged by God’s word and His peace. It’s a day by day, sometimes moment by moment process. I do know God is faithful. Subscribe if you want to join me on this journey.

Be blessed.
