As mentioned in yesterday’s post, this year will highlight growth, personal development, and developing your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. I accept and understand you may agree. However, my heart is to encourage and empower others for the whole person.
We are body, soul, and spirit. We feed the body and the spirit. It is time we take care of the soul. This is the immortal part of us that needs nurturing. Considering that each person has a perspective on heaven and hell; it is my perspective that each of us is going to one place or the other. Our soul has a destination. While many dispute the existence of hell, believing in heaven and not hell is an oxymoron.
The beginning of growth is determining what you believe. Why do you believe what you believe? Many of us are influenced by our environment to believe what others tell us to believe. What are your core values? When you understand what you value, you can understand why you do what you do and what you actually believe.
All that said, I believe God’s word. It tells me that there is a heaven and a hell. It tells me after death, there is judgment, and then heaven or hell. Here are the Scriptures.
Hebrews 9:27 – “And it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.”
Matthew 10:28 – “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Every person chooses what they believe, consciously or subconsciously. The choice to read and stand on the work of authors, scholars, and those sharing experientially is each person’s prerogative. My choice is God’s word.
What is your anchor? What is the foundation of your choices and movement on this journey? What do you use to gauge your choices?
Be blessed.

I agree that nurturing our soul is crucial, and understanding what we believe forms the foundation of our journey. For me, the Word of God is my anchor, guiding my choices and growth.
