As mentioned in yesterday’s post, this year will highlight growth, personal development, and developing your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. I accept and understand you may agree. However, my heart is to encourage and empower others for the whole person.

We are body, soul, and spirit. We feed the body and the spirit. It is time we take care of the soul. This is the immortal part of us that needs nurturing. Considering that each person has a perspective on heaven and hell; it is my perspective that each of us is going to one place or the other. Our soul has a destination. While many dispute the existence of hell, believing in heaven and not hell is an oxymoron.

The beginning of growth is determining what you believe. Why do you believe what you believe? Many of us are influenced by our environment to believe what others tell us to believe. What are your core values? When you understand what you value, you can understand why you do what you do and what you actually believe.

All that said, I believe God’s word. It tells me that there is a heaven and a hell. It tells me after death, there is judgment, and then heaven or hell. Here are the Scriptures.

Hebrews 9:27 – “And it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.”

Matthew 10:28 – “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

Every person chooses what they believe, consciously or subconsciously. The choice to read and stand on the work of authors, scholars, and those sharing experientially is each person’s prerogative. My choice is God’s word.

What is your anchor? What is the foundation of your choices and movement on this journey? What do you use to gauge your choices?

Be blessed.

  2. Willie Torres Jr. – Thank you for visiting my site and reading my story. I hope that it has blessed you in some way, shape, or form. To tell you a bit about myself, I am a New Christian, or as I like to say, "A Toddler Christian," being saved as of 2017. From a very young age, my family always told me that I had a calling. I believe that it was God's plan for me to become a Christian, and I am so thankful that he has opened my eyes to the truth. For years I had been living my life in a way that I thought was right, but it was only when I was at my lowest point that I finally realized I was missing the most important relationship of all – the one with Jesus Christ. I had been trying to serve and to love those around me, but I had forgotten to put Him first. It was only when I felt overwhelmed by depression, loneliness and suicidal thoughts that I was finally willing to open up to the Lord and let Him into my life. That was in 2017, and since then, I have never looked back. I now know how important it is to have a relationship with Jesus Christ, and I strive to make sure that He is at the center of everything I do. I started writing stories that I believe were inspired by the Holy Spirit. These stories are my testimonies, and they recount the various trials I have faced and how the Lord has helped me to overcome them. I'm grateful for God's guidance in my life, and I'm thankful that He has been with me every step of the way. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my wife of 35 years for the immense love, encouragement and support she has given to me over the years. Her unwavering faith in me has made me the person I am today. I am also thankful to our two boys, who have been the greatest children any parent could ask for. Their presence in our lives has filled it with joy and love, and I cannot thank them enough for that. I am truly blessed to have them in my life, and I cherish every moment we have together. They have made my life infinitely richer, and I am infinitely grateful. I am deeply grateful to the Truth Hunters and Lyn Leahz for giving me the chance to share my writings on their website. It was this opportunity that provided the encouragement I needed to take the leap and start my own. I also want to thank those who have been a source of inspiration and support for me, encouraging me to keep moving forward and never give up. As we say in Our Facebook Ministry, I hope to continue to grow in Christ together with you. You are loved, and I am thankful for all the support I have received. Sincerely, Willie Torres Jr.

I agree that nurturing our soul is crucial, and understanding what we believe forms the foundation of our journey. For me, the Word of God is my anchor, guiding my choices and growth.
