Do Good, Especially to the Household of Faith

I pray you are having a great and blessed Sunday. Today I am sharing from Galatians 6:10 – “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those of the household of faith.” Your faith matters not just to you but to God and the household of faith. Per the Scripture in Galatians, we are to do good, especially to the household of faith. Do you consider how you treat your brothers and sisters in Christ?

There are plenty of Scriptures that guide us in relationship. The enemy holds many in bondage because of offense. Is not letting go of some offenses an opportunity to do good? Your mind is much more clutter-free when you can let go. So is your heart. I am not speaking of emotional and physical abuse. These extremes require help. Offenses that are not earth shaking can be let go of. These instances are within your realm of control. You have to exercise your level of spiritual maturity to grow in this area. Some instances will be easier than others. Acts 24:16 – “This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.”

It is your choice to stretch those spiritual muscles. To learn more about this trap of Satan. John Bevere wrote The Bait of Satan: Living Free from the Deadly Trap of Offense. You can find this book on Amazon. I bought this book six years ago, which has served me well. I committed to developing a sincere desire to live honorably in all things. I am not there yet. I commit daily to weighing my behavior by God’s word. This helps me stay focused on my relationship with the Lord and deepen my intimacy with Him.

Here are three tips that I offer for consideration:

  1. Recognize the hurt. Pride keeps us from accepting we’ve been hurt. Make peace and let it go.
  2. Pray for the offender. Pray for their sake, not just yours, to bring awareness and deliverance as well as growth in God.
  3. Remember, recovery is a choice.

These tips are what I used when reading The Bait of Satan.

Hope this post encourages you in your daily journey. Be blessed.
