Becoming Accountable

I pray you are having a blessed and happy Sunday. The Saturday, October 26th post was about what makes you happy. The question today is, what motivates you?

I wasn’t sure there would be a post today. I presented questions a little strongly yesterday. However, I do believe that when we ask and answer those poignant questions for our lives, we help ourselves. I understand that there are times when we don’t want the answers. Why? Because once we receive knowledge, we are accountable for using that knowledge accordingly.

Once the habit is established, ask yourself the right questions and answer them; this becomes a way to incorporate those changes you desire. I can certainly say it is not easy; it’s a process. I say that often in my writing because there will be times when you lapse. That is not the time to beat yourself up. Get up, brush off, and keep moving. The more consistently you practice any new habit, the more likely you will replace the bad one.

I have many journals. Some are complete, others not. However, I usually stop and read pages from one or another when deep cleaning and organizing. My point is that I can read back four, five, or more years from when I started writing down the changes I desired to make. I have bible studies from years back where I journaled. Writing helps reinforce what you want to accomplish. This is a page from my devotional journal February 2019.

Writing details down made it easier to make changes or alter a plan when I needed to do so. These steps are tried and true for me. My suggestions here are just that, suggestions. You have to get started to find what works for you. One other aspect of writing things down is you get to the nitty-gritty.

I have better time management because I can work from a list. While I agree that everything doesn’t have to be a list, there are times when a list is pro-active. You can always adjust accordingly.

I pray this encourages you. Be blessed.
