Don’t let the sun go down on your anger. It’s destructive. Hearing about the attack on Greg Locke and the shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia, this topic is timely, appropriate, and desperately needed today.
Today’s Scripture: Psalm 4:4
This one verse talks about a major emotion – anger. We all experience it in one way or another. How do you deal with anger? Some do well until backed into a corner. Others immediately explode. And yet others are in between. However, God gives the same instruction for everyone. “Don’t sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent.”

Psalm 37:8 – “Cease from anger and forsake wrath.; do not fret; it leads only to evildoing.”
Ephesians 4:26 -“Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger.”
God has given us this emotion as well as the others; joy, pain, sorrow, etc. However, this emotion should not control you. Self-control is a fruit of the spirit. Galatians 5:22 says: “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
Your anger does not produce the righteousness of God. It takes self-awareness and practice. Something we should practice regularly.
Be blessed.
