Hello. My oldest granddaughter went back to Dallas this morning. I will miss truly getting to know her. I became more aware of the challenges she is facing. There are so many things she has to work through. I will say that I have been working through some things. As part of the aging process, patience becomes an anomaly.

What I found most challenging was her taking accountability for the things she did. However, is that not the challenge we have with many adult relationships? My heart goes out because she can make things so different for herself.

The other challenge for her will be learning to listen. This is still a brick wall for many of us. Getting our point across is the most important thing. When we learn to listen, we help others as well as ourselves. As I write this, it serves as a springboard for prayer for myself as well as others. My grandchildren are included. We all need an ear to hear, eyes to see, and a heart to receive.

Is feeling that some pain can be avoided early enough a part of reflection, wisdom, or just aging in general? That curveball seemed to turn on me. Nonetheless, I am in prayer. However, my help comes, it comes through the grace of God. It may be just prayer is what I offer. God is the one who performs the miracles for us all.

Be blessed,

Sandra R Vercellono

I feel your heart on this! It’s so hard watching those you love have to learn some of life’s vital lessons. My son lost his job recently, and I felt some of those feelings. Thankfully he is responding well and growing through it. But as you said, that is God’s grace!

    1. All we can do is continue to pray for them and trust God to move.
