Today is the day before I had major surgery on June 8, 2023. I was in a reflective place earlier today. I am sharing another part of my story. One part of the beat of this site is aging and the challenges. My experiences connect with some of my audience. Encouragement comes from knowing I’ve been there or am there, and understand.
I had a stint put in my heart. It was 80% blocked. It was surgery on the right carotid artery. My mini-stroke in March of the same year caused immobility on my left side. I am here to say that God is good. I didn’t have to make it through the stroke. I enjoyed going without shoes for a minute though. I couldn’t feel my left foot so I couldn’t put them on.
Okay, let’s get to the surgery. I was completely shut down for this surgery. God designed the body to recover, be resilient, and adjust. It is amazing. The glory still belongs to Him because I didn’t have to make it through the surgery. I do thank God for great friendship, close and loving family, and grace. Did I say God is good? I did.
The point I have today is this. God is good and I am grateful. Gratitude is so important. A tiny sleight of hand and things could have been so different. I might not have had the opportunity to share how really good God is.
