Organizing the Details

This post is about adding meditation to organizing the details in this journey. After a little research, the definition of meditation used for this post is to “think, contemplate, devise or ponder.” Merriam-Webster defined meditation as “the act or process of spending time in quiet thought.” This is in line with the synonyms listed above. And, not least of course, is the Scripture reference to “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14, NLT). The words fed the spirit are important and should be considered with thoughtfulness.

Meditation Quote1In tweaking the process, meditation is added to the first step in the morning. Rather than just jumping right into the day, take several minutes to fully awaken (add coffee for me), get centered and quiet to hear anything God has to say first thing. Understanding that everyone has responsibilities and schedules based on their own particular lives, this information is only a suggestion in case there are areas that need changing for you. This action allows recognition of thoughts that may not be uplifting and encouraging. We can begin to recognize negative thoughts more quickly and the application of dismissing the negative thoughts becomes a habit. Welcome the road to better living in the now.

Knowing from experience that plans change, I also understand that having a flexible structure allows us to accomplish the things we need to because focus and purpose are added to what we do. Two benefits of meditation that I enjoy are being more focused and having better self-awareness. Sometimes being lost in the journey is due to the chaos that enters, intentionally or non-intentionally. Being purposeful in our actions helps to reinforce what we believe, where we are going and how we plan to get there. The self-awareness is not about being self-centered but acknowledging who you are and what’s going on with you. The topic of self-love has been trending in our blogging community. The Word of God tells us to love others as we love ourselves. How can we do that if we don’t love ourselves? Becoming more aware of your thought process and emotions, as well as behaviors, the ability to change for better becomes clearer. Not always easy, but definitely clearer.

  1. Godsfruitful – Where do I begin?:) I recently retired and have never had quite so much time to figure out exactly what I should be doing. I became a Christian nine years ago, and for the first time in thirty years, I now have the opportunity to actually consider what it is that God would have me do to better serve Him:) I have always had a hunger for learning God's Word…I'm talking about a real excitement!!! I enjoy teaching Bible studies and working in Women's Ministry at my church. I'm excited to see where this website and blog will lead and am hopeful that it will touch lives for Christ. OH….and I tend to be wordy when I'm excited:)))

    Amen!!! Thanks for sharing!!🙂
