Go to God, He is Available

Psalm 27:8 – “ My heart has heard you say ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.”
Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.”
Even believers tend to forget that we don’t have all the answers. We are compelled to try to accomplish things in our own strength. I encourage you today to revisit these Scriptures. If you have a heavy heart, God says come talk to Him. Through Christ Jesus we can come boldly to the throne of grace. God’s Word holds the answers to what ails us. Through Christ Jesus by the Holy Spirt, God has given us all that we need to walk in victory.

Psalm 28:11 -“The Lord gives His people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace.”
Do you need strength? Psalm 28:11 says He gives us strength. Do you need peace? He has given us peace through Jesus Christ. The peace that passes all understanding.
John 14:27 – “I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. Not the peace of the world.

Your needs are fulfilled through what Jesus accomplished on the Cross.
Faithfulness
My comfort today in the Lord is so much stronger. It has been an interesting January. The commitment to writing has been mentioned. A narrower focus, concentrating on my gift and being consistent or faithful has kept me appreciating all that He does for me. Faithfulness is an interesting word because it automatically lends itself to the subject of faith. However, it is not just about faith in God but also about faith in the things you do.
Faithfulness is defined by such terms as
- strict or thorough in the performance of duty; true to one’s word, promises, vows, etc; steady in allegiance or affection; loyal; constant
- reliable, trusted, or believed
- adhering or true to fact, a standard
- full of faith; believing (By the way this is listed as an obsolete definition. I tend to believe there is nothing obsolete about faithfulness.)
In looking at the above definition, it is definitely necessary to build this character trait. In noticing the difference and changes in myself after committing to a particular thing, I can look back and see that when I was all over the place, I was in a chaotic place. There is definitely something to be said for faithfulness. Keep reading on God’s faithfulness…!
Strength
Strength. What is it and do you have it? The definitions according to the dictionary include physical strength, mental strength, moral strength and a few other aspects of what strength truly encompasses. Today, the focus is on mental and moral strength, as well as courage. When life throws those curve balls, where does your strength come from for moving forward from striking out on a particular opportunity? When you get hit by a pitched ball, do you have the tenacity to rise and move forward?
In the past year, I was pitched so many different balls; curve balls, high balls, low balls, and was even hit by a few pitches. This is a brand new year and I am still standing. Faith in God and His Word is what keeps me going. It is the foundation and core of my strength. Some may believe, others may not. This point is that I share from where my strength lies. I know that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is real to me, my rock and my fortress. How strong is a rock? Depends on the rock and if it is big enough and has been building over time, it is hard to move a rock. Rocks build strength over time after weathering the forces of nature. Rain, cold, sleet, ice and other natural elements that people have no control over. These elements represent those curve balls I reference.
I have been knocked down but not out. This year brings a new vigor and force with it for me. It brings more trust that I am stronger than I once believed because my true strength lies in my faith in God. This year renews my belief that God sees me. This year brings a reinforced and stronger commitment to God and His Word. This year brings a renewed and stronger passion for writing, to share and encourage others from my own experiences. Like the sharing, love the sharing, use the sharing or lose the sharing. The experiences can help others. My belief is that in sharing, others will be encouraged and strengthened if they choose to be. Once shared, it is released from my hands.
I feel empowered for this year as I maintain my commitment to Him. I feel empowered and more passionate about my writing. I feel excitement and anticipation for what God has yet to do in me and through me to help others on life’s journey. I am truly excited for 2016! How about you?
Change in 2010
I am up early. Need to go to bed. However, I am thinking about change for my family. My son has mental illness and sometimes it is hard when he hurts and I cannot help. I am going to the hospital later on this morning to see him. He sounds really good but I hope that he is now on the right medication. I am looking forward to seeing him and knowing he’s alright. I do pray that God would continue to open doors for understanding and bonding and that He would strengthen us. God’s wisdom is what this family needs to help my son in his journey. And, we need God to show us how to help make my son’s journey the best for him. There is so much more I want to write but need to go to bed in order to get up early enough. Will post more later.
