I pray you had an enjoyable Fourth of July and enjoyed the time with family and friends. Some were unable to do this. Did you give thanks for your blessings? Because it is a blessing to love and be loved. However…
You were notified that today was your last day on earth—not tomorrow, not next week, but today. What would you do in that moment? Are you prepared? Can you be?
I was reading the information about the floods and natural disasters in Texas. The lives lost and the families impacted continue to rise. This is not about the accidents, the cruelty of humanity, or any of the other injustices impacting us. Is it well with your soul? Are you in right relationship with God? This is about where you are going when you leave this earth. Natural disasters are out of our control. I am reminded to hold on to God’s peace when this happens. I pray for the families impacted. I put them on the altar to God. We need Him through the trauma.
Some were here yesterday, but gone today. How critical is it to love others while they are still here?
Being in the right relationship with God is my priority, as much as I can. He is the sovereign Lord. He did give each one of us free will. While we have time, get right with God. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.

This post is not meant to be morbid, but sobering. I tend to be very reflective in my aging. I believe the consensus of the culture today is to get educated, strive for excellence in whatever you do, and build your retirement fund. Stay focused and on track with your goals. Sounds a little like me, doesn’t it? Laughing out loud because I am an advocate of being prepared, learning to do things better, and personal growth.
However, my priority is my relationship with God, through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Be blessed and encouraged.
