Encouragement, edification, and empowerment from a biblical perspective for true transformation.

The Fund Part_Reworking the Budget

I pray you are having a great Thursday. It’s been nice today. My daughter made an excellent omelette for breakfast with tomato slices and seasoned avocado. I do appreciate that she has some culinary skills and I didn’t have to cook.

I can’t downsize without reworking my budget. I am reviewing the subscriptions and considering what I need for creativity and the cost of the platforms I use. One platform I will not continue to pay for is Twitter Pro. I don’t have the engagement or use the Pro features consistently enough to justify paying for it anymore. However, I will continue to post. I started the Pro when I was acquiring my Master’s. I thought it would be more engaging.

There is no cost for TikTok. However, I no longer trust the platform. Do you have a different perspective? Let me know in the comments. I want to streamline the platforms. Everything needs to be addressed. No more frivolous spending. I was able to reduce my Adobe Creative Cloud expense. The goal is to do what I do without killing my budget.

Finances are challenging. In retirement, a fixed budget is just that fixed. One of my financial goals in 2025 is to increase my clientele. I will add savings to this and prepare for the student loans. My prayer is that God will give me wisdom as I surrender this area to Him even more. I did start paying off other debt over the last couple of years. It’s a work in progress.

Be blessed.

I definitely don’t trust TikTok. People should absolutely trust the government on this one. I’m with you on the budget. I’m paying for WordPress with what I earn from the Medium platform, which covers both. I’m going to experiment with YouTube, turning blog posts into videos, and see how that goes. I don’t want to be a millionaire; I just want to earn enough to support my writing hobby because, like you said, we’re on a fixed income, so we can’t afford to do it all.

I was also thinking about YouTube. I plan to utilize Instagram more fully for videos, and I want to enjoy reading the writings of others. Paring down is a process. I don’t have time to do it all.

Reading other writers is what I love about WordPress and Medium.
