I hope you have had a great Saturday so far. Today, I want to illuminate how God’s word helps me with the four areas listed below. The one thing that it does in all four categories is provide a foundation. Whatever work is done, I have a standard to work from. To me, truth is not relative. It is based on God’s word because it allows me to be grounded in decision-making. I am not moving from one premise to another.
I want to write this because some may read my writing and not understand how I arrived here. I stand on the premise that it’s still not always the easiest thing to do. However, it does get easier as I practice it. As a Christian life coach, I wanted an anchor that would help me with every client, not just one or several. Knowing my core values and what I stand on makes it much easier to help others. I don’t have to come up with something different for each person. It also makes it easier for the client to make a decision when our values differ.
The best part about the anchor of God’s word is that God knows the hearts of men. I do not. When there is an underlying issue, I can pray for that person. God will reveal what they need, even when I don’t.
Trust – Trusting in God’s word helps me rest in Him. Whatever the outcome, whether I like it or not, I know God is doing what is best for me and the other person.
Peace – I have peace when I trust God. I am not trusting in the ever-changing position of the present culture.
Challenges – The challenges come for us all. This anchor provides ground rules from which to work. We can work together to move forward in the work we do. Remember those curve balls from yesterday’s post.
Serving Others – I understand that some may not believe as I do. I do believe in the anchor of God’s word. Being transparent helps to ensure that they know where I am coming from.
One takeaway I hope to give you from this post is to establish your values. It pays to know what you believe and why. Our culture gets more complex by the day because things change so often and so quickly.
Be blessed.
