Gratitude

Blessed Sunday to you!

This is the end of the year. After a couple of days, 2025 will make its permanent entrance. There are a few areas of reflection at the end of the year. The most important is gratitude. I know we just did Thanksgiving. However, this reflection is much more in-depth.

When you look back on 2024, start with the smallest thing or the largest thing and go from there. I share quite a bit things I am grateful for. But, I am going to put some here.

I am grateful, first and foremost, for my relationship with Jesus. I would not have made it through this year without Him. I would not have attempted my return to school, much less obtain my Master’s degree. I am grateful for the strength He gave me, mind and body, to get this done, considering the health challenges I faced. I am grateful to be walking again. I can wear shoes again (lol). They may not be heels but I can move. I am grateful for a primary care doctor who sees me. I am grateful for the preventive care treks to the doctors. I am grateful for my sanity.

I am grateful for community and connection. I am grateful for the wonderful writers who share their hearts and journeys. I am grateful for the people I have had the joy of meeting who have shared their knowledge with me. I am grateful for retaining what I learned in school to be able to share it with you. I am grateful I had another birthday.

I am grateful I am retired. Some don’t make it this far. I am grateful for my children and grandchildren. I am grateful for long-term relationships and new ones. There is so much more I can put here. However, I’ll stop here. I am grateful for the opportunity to be excited about the new year, God willing.

What are you grateful for?
