God bless. I pray everyone had a great Thursday. Here is the quote I want to highlight today.
“Joy is the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the quiet confidence that everything will be alright, and the determined choice to praise Him in all things.” — Kay Warren

Today I want to speak on expectations. When a person doesn’t receive what they are expecting, it leads to disappointment. I believe this is where major dissatisfaction sets in for many. How do you handle situations where your expectations were not met?
One way that I deal with unmet expectations is based on the above quote. God is in control and when my expectations aren’t met, I remind myself that God is in control. I then ask God for clarity. I do accept that God wants what is best for me, even if it is uncomfortable or may seem disappointing. Knowing that everything is going to be alright allows me to trust God. What I expected may not be exactly what I need.
It’s important for me to praise God even when things don’t turn out the way I think they should. It’s not about giving up, it’s about changing perspectives accordingly. I conclude for myself that mindset is so important on the journey to change. The mindset of expectations is to make sure that my expectations are based on God and His word so that people are unable to disappoint in a way that challenges my mental stability. God’s word tells us not put trust in man but in Him.
On my journey of growth and change, there are things that I now do to maintain my peace. Mental health is a high point these days. However, there are some things an individual can do keep mental health a priority. Making the better choice is so important. That includes trusting God and letting go (we cannot control every aspect of our lives or anyone else’s).
I hope this encourages you. Be blessed.
