Fixed on Jesus

Isaiah 26:3 – “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you.”
There is no healthy way to sustain ourselves except we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. The world is getting worse.
Since we are foreigners in this world anyway, we need to keep our thoughts on the things above, be heavenly minded. So that we don’t get caught up in the things of the world, it is a necessary requirement. We are looking towards eternity. As eternal beings, we have to understand that the temporary things are just that, temporary. Not saying our vocations aren’t important, they are, as well as other things such as relationships, jobs, bills, etc. However, they are all temporary.
Eternity needs to be our prioritized focus. As we walk with Jesus day by day, He leads us by His Holy Spirit on what to prioritize. Jesus is first and then all else. “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:33.
We have to hold on to what’s important as the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. As with the sower of seed, taking your eyes off the prize gives the enemy opportunity to do just that.
I just encourage you today to keep your eyes and mind on Jesus no matter what else is going on.

Giving God the Glory
Giving God the Glory

The promises of God are true. He is worthy of our praise. No one can do what the Lord does. He is faithful even when we are not. You got up this morning. You have breath in your body and are moving about. Did you you say thank you to the Lord? Did you praise Him because you got to see another day? Are you in comfort and warmth? Did you say thank you for your spouse, your children, your mom or dad? Answering these questions everyday are just part of the reason for praising God. Are you missing any of these things? Praise Him anyway. You are still here and there is still hope. What are you grateful to God for today?

The above paragraph was the Precious Ponder. I wanted to add a little more thought to this subject. Praising God glorifies Him. How do you glorify God if you don’t praise Him? Giving thanks and praising Him shows that you you recognize the Lord and shows that you are cognizant of your blessings from Him. There is always much to complain about. Praising God takes your mind off the negative and reminds us that God is still in control no matter what it looks like, no matter what is going on around us. When the praises go up, the blessings come down.
Let us give God the glory that’s due Him. He is worthy of our praise. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Innermost Wants and Fears

Our innermost wants and fears are the things we hold on to because we still want control. Afraid to give them to God because we don’t trust that He will give us what we think we want. For instance, say I want my child’s salvation. I won’t pray for that child like I should because I don’t trust that God will save my child without some tragedy. I know that’s a harsh analogy. I understand it though. I used to (note “used to”) pray for my children and in the same breath pray that this particular thing doesn’t happen to them or that particular thing. All because I was fearful.
Instead of trusting that God wants the best for my child like He does for me, my thought process goes on a trip all on it’s own. Part of the challenge with trusting God is that He doesn’t always tell us the how and when. Most of us can deduce why…John 3:16. “For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”
We still allow our innermost wants and fears to dictate our relationship with Christ. Instead of trusting that God understands you, wants the best for you, gave His best for you, the tendency is to hold on for dear life. The paradox is that life is lost without Jesus anyway, no matter how tight your hold is.
It’s time to let go of what you can’t control anyway and let Jesus shed His light on what living truly looks like.
A Precious Ponder
Position, Peace and Power

One of my favorite testimonies from the Word of God, is the testimony of the three Hebrew boys, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abedneggo. Their claim to fame was walking through the blazing fire coming out unscathed. Why were they able to walk through the fire unscathed? When I prayed over these Scriptures, the Holy Spirit revealed to me there were 3 reasons: position, peace and power.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abedneggo positioned themselves in God. They decided to believe God and did not waver. They were threatened with bodily harm. Did that deter their stance? No, it did not. They positioned themselves and provide a clear example of not being double-minded; not wavering under pressure. Be positioned in Christ.
They were at peace. When you know what you believe and why, you relish in the peace of Christ. You rest in that He has everything under control. He left the peace that passes all understanding for us. Be at peace in Christ.
The power of God moved in their circumstance. God is not only willing, He is also able to move in any situation or circumstance you have, including those of fire. Do you have the power of God moving in your life? Do you need it to? The power of God is available to us all. Not by demand. By positioning yourself, holding His peace and thereby, allowing the power of God to move.
