Freedom to Rejoice

High HeelsToday’s post is kind of short for me but to the point. “This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24 (NKJV)

Today, recognition blesses my soul and that keeping my commitment to the present, the now is wrapped up in this Scripture. I believe that I am truly living now because I have surrendered my gift of writing to Him. Embracing and using this gift to share with others has been a rewarding and eye-opening journey of self-discovery.

“For the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable.” This means that God is not one to take back the gifts He has given you. This is an awesome Scripture verse. And, in line with the focus of some of my other posts, believe God. He will not take back what He has given you. However, these gifts may lie dormant for many. Why?

Many of us fail to embrace and surrender to God the gifts He has so generously blessed us with. You may not think you know what that gift is, but there is evidence to the contrary. Reflect back on your life. Note here that reflection is not for the negative, the shame or the guilt. It is see what it is that you do that you truly love doing, whether or not you receive pay for it. It is to see what you have done in your life that allows you to embrace fully and lose all track of time. The beginning of discovery for some. Others may know and have not surrendered. Whose to say this is not the day of your awakening?

Use your gift to honor God, live in the moment and change the direction of your life.

  1. Good post. I agree, a key to contentment in Christ is to surrender to the gifts He has given to us, and to use them for His honor.
